A., Aoting Agent Uintah & Ouray Agenoy, Whiterocks, Utah. Sir:- The Office is in receipt of a letter from John B. Vree-land, U. S. Attorney for the. District of Heir Jersey, dated May 21, 3aying that in the conduct of the case of the United States vs. the Raven Mining Company, now pending in the Circuit Court of the United States for the District of New Jersey, it will be necessary .for him to he furnished with a statement of the ores mined, showing the quantity and kind as well as the time of mining, classified also with reference to the particular group of mines from which the ores have been taken. The lease in favor of the Raven Mining Company covering certain lands of the former Uintah Reservation provides in part:- It will keep am. accurate accotint of said mining operations showing the whole amount of ore and minerals mined or removed; and the Indian Agent in charge of , said reservation, or any other Agent or ' ,;; Agents appointed by the Secretary of the Interior shall have the right at all times during the existence of this lease, _n behalf _f Vna ~artr of Vae firsi; ^ar+,. |
