Show -4- two teams, take the rest of the money and buy farm implements, some of thie things that the Government has'nt got, so that they farm good and raise good crops like the white men. (Rem.) How if any of you want to ask any questions about the letter the Secreatary wrote to you or the one he wrote to me, if there ia any thing that you don't understand, I will answer the questions now. o TIM JOHNSON:- I won't listent to what the Secretary says. He is just like what Capt. Johnson says. Capt.Johnson comes right here and tells us about every thing. We don't want to hear about those White Rivers. Let them take care of their own business. I don't say anything about these people. Do the ranchmen pay for his homeste^Lso much per acre. I did'nt sec anything on that paper. I never heard anything about that. What we Indians rant is money to buy grub with. Congress say this, "We will give your your land. Hone of these white people can get homesteads. Give the land to the Indians and let them use it the way they please." He ought to say that. We just all the same to-day. We most always have a lot to talk about. We never come here just for fun. This land belongs to the Indians. We have been living here all the time. Where does this Secretary come from? He ought to say some thing good before he goes to monkeying with our land. \There does this man from Washington come from. He ought to talk something good about our living. Big man at Washington a great man. He tells us this land belongs to us. Never can be taken away from fit us. We can't make you give up your land.. He says our land going to be right here, never can be moved. Thats is what Washington man say to me. Every time when Washington goes wrong, the man is wrong |
