Sir: Tills Office is in receipt of a report from Capt. C.G. Hall, U.S.A., Acting Indian Agent, Uintah, and Ouray Agency, "Shite Rocks, Utah, wherein he states that a white ..an by the naae of L.A. Pike, married to a member of the Ute trite of Indians on the Uintah Reservation, has separated from his wife, and tho parties have entered into a contract ol" separation, but since its execution neither the man nor woman seem willing to live up to its provisions. Among other things stated in the contract Pike ./as to liuve oertain bees on the family ranoh. The woman declines to allow him to take them away until he agrees to pay her $500 'jeir.g an amount to which she claims she is rightly entitled. I:i view of the facts the Agent has found it necessary to keep Pike off the reservation and refuse him a residenoe thereon.
