Show 2 department, Six hundred dollars, the vouchers for which shall be forwarded to your office through the Superintendent immediately on my arrival in Salt Lake City. In my communication of yesterday, I advised the appointment of an agent for the Shoshonie tribe of Indians, to be stationed on Green River, in Utah. If the department would determine to appoint one, I would most respectfully recommend Alexander M. Holeman. He has been out with me, is well acquainted with the principal men of the tribe, and is much of a favorite among them, and would be entirely acceptable to me-and I believe would make an efficient agent.
