Show Attorney General - 3. ^ 735Jo kins will plan to keep all the Indiana together. In viev? of his ranifested sympathies with the defense, as Ksnticned in mine of May 6, he might not so readily appreciate the desirability of keeping the Government witnesses away from hostile surroundings. If Old Polk is allowed to travel with the Government witnesses and to stop with them while in Denver, his intimidation will continue, for which reason, if you deem it proper, kindly request the Indian Service to instruct Mr, Jenkins to keep the Indian witnesses for the Government apart from the witnesses for the defense at all times. As the tiase is rapidly approaching when he will necessarily cake his arrangements, such instructions, if sent, ought to be transmitted to Mr. Jenkins by wire. Very respectfully, - X ...- o •"" .,- United Statea Attorney. |
