QQ the prisoner or prisoners are to be delivered to the United States Marshal in Utah, and', if necessary, he may decide to deliver them to the United States Marshal in the D i s t r i c t of Colorado. If General Scott decides to deliver the prisoner or prisoners to you in Colorado, your instructions are to follow his orders, and not to Interfere in any way with the custody of Eatch or other Indians u n t i l General Scott voluntarily turns them over to you in Colorado at some point to be designated by him. You will then see that they are imprisoned at such noint and > eut there u n t i l duly moved by proper legal process. In order that there may be no possible trouble from outsiders, you are further instructed to a s s i s t General Scott, if ne so requests, and u t i l i s e your deputies if necessary in doing so, in protecting from violence any Indians who surrender to General Scott.
