Description EZRA THOMPSON CLARK xi Elder Edward B. Clark, Farmington, Utah. Dear Brother Clark: Many thanks for the little book, "A Biography of Ezra T. Clark." I read it aloud to my wife last evening from start to finish .and we enjoyed it immensely. I congratulate your sister upon having written such a fine account of your father's life. I esteemed your father very highly indeed. I was one that partook of hospitality very often, almost without fail every I , time there was a quarterly conference at Farmington when I was appointed to attend. I read his testimony of the trans- figuration, so to speak, of Brigham Young at the time that Sidney Rigdon tried to claim appointment as the guardian of the Church, representing the Prophet Joseph, and how Brig- ham Young spoke with the voice, and used the gestures, and had the personal appearance of Joseph Smith. I am grateful that my mother was present and had the same testimony which she often gave in public. Ever praying for your welfare and that of your loved ones, and with best wishes for a happy and prosperous New Year, and hoping that you and yours had an enjoyable Christmas, I am Sincerely your friend and brother, Heber J. Grant One who loves pioneer stories will gain from this biog- raphy a realistic understanding of an exciting time in American history. OBERT C. TANNER
