Thus Annie Clark Tanner characterizes her father Ezra Thompson Clark and his life in her biog- raphy of him. This biography is a success story. Ezra Thompson Clark did "increase his possessions" from a thirty-five acre farm in Farmington to seven hundred acres plus a ranch in Bear Lake, Idaho. He was a shrewd businessman and was instrumental in founding the Davis County Bank, of which he was president, and the Com- mercial Store, of which he was chairman of the Board of Directors. Ezra T. Clark did "serve his church" by serv- ing in various church positions, placing his pos- sessions at the disposal of church authorities, contributing generously to church undertak- ings, and serving on missions. Ezra Clark did "look diligently after the in- terests of his family." Married to three wives and the father of twenty-one children, he pro- vided all the necessities and many of the lux-
