Approximately 57.8% of the sites are potentially eligible and with the 17.2% noncontributory period sites, 75% of the total sites were built in the historic period. In considering a Main Street historic district, it should be noted that the present vehicular traffic pattern through Farmington is somewhat different than the historic pattern. Before construction of the Interstate 15, motorized (and before then, animal-pulled) vehicles from the south came into the city on the old south route (now Highway 91/106), or along State Street from the west, with the west entry being the most popular. The eight blocks in Plat A along the north and south of west State Street are laden with potentially eligible sites. The statistics for the street-facing sites are as follows: STATE STREET SITES (4-BLOCK LENGTH) Blocks A-3 A-4 A-5 A-6 A-7 A-8 A-9 A-IO ! 1 1 2 4 3 1 1 ~ CategorI: of Significance OP C 2 1 2 1 3 1 2 0 3 0 4 0 1 2 £ --.!.
