Show THE MORMON HISTORY ASSOCIATION The Mormon History Association fosters scholarly research and publication in the field of Mormon history and promotes fellow ship and communication among scholars interested in the Mor mon past. Membership in the association is open to any person interested in Mormon history. In addition to convening annual meetings-often, but not always, held at important Mormon historic sites-the association sponsors adjunct sessions at con ventions of major historical organizations. The MHA's publica tions include the MHA Newsletter, issued thrice-yearly, the Journal of Mormon History, issued once a year, and the "His torians Corner," ------x 1 :00-5:00 p.m. x------ REGISTRATION Lobby Sheraton Inn-East 3:30 p.m. PLENARY SESSION Second Floor Kirtland Temple PRESIDING ADDRESS Jan Shipps, History/Religious Studies, at Indianapolis Indiana-Purdue "The RLDS Church's Acquisition of the Kirtland Temple" Thomas Bennett, Director, RLDS Church Legal issued occasionally as a sub-section of BYU Studies. The organization has also established a program of awards for the best books and articles published in the field of Mormon history. Current annual dues are $4.00 a year, payable to Larry C. Porter, Secretary-Treasurer, Box 7010, University Station, Provo, Utah 84602. Dues may also be paid as a part of the registration for the annual meeting each year.
