I was in conversation recently with a friend of mine \·,:,0 te ac.ies at the Weber State College Institute and happened to mention this to him. He told me that he didn't think it was a wise purchase for two reasons: First, He stated that he was in a meeting where you spoke and in the course of your remarks stated tha t you "waul d not gi ve she 1f space to the Journal of Discourses." Second It seems rather apparent that the leaders of th church would like us not to spend time readin9 the He cited old writings of pst leaders of the church. Ki mba11 President for this purpose the statement of in the most recent· Priesthood Session of Confrcnce. where he publicly discredited the Adam God sermon of Brigham Young. as evidence that such are rejected. Brother Petersen did you ever make such a statement or express a thought as my fri end has credi ted to you? I know there are many fine books that I do ·not yet have in my library, but for years and helpful had thought that the Journal of Discourses would be a good reference source : to have on hand. However, in view of the above two thoughts I am now wonde r if it would be. s imil iar Would you about having such work and please respond now and give me your opinion or feelings a collection as the Journal of Discourses in one's l i b.ra ry.
