The rea..,on fur this periodicity is quite "'peculative, It is t\'pical for all patients with cvelic strabislllus to develop a con..,tant L'sotropia if fullowed for a sufficient iL'ngth uf tillle. Thi.., may indicate that these patients are basicalh' strabismic with cvcles uf remission rather than orthophoric with periods of esotrupia (3). It ma\' be the result ot an aberration in the biologic clock (1,2) or ,1 wmbination of defects in the clock, the oculunwtur nuclei, superior wlliculi, or other nuclei ,1" ..,ugge..,ted by Richter (2).
