2006 DONATION UPDATE Once again, the J. Willard Marriott Library's Special Collections has benefited from the dedicated support of both the Ski Archives' Volunteer Advisory Board and the Special Collections staff in their efforts to get the word out about their mission to document the history of skiing in the Intermountain Region. Collection highlights include donations from the following individuals and groups: dawn aoki Black and white along with color images of Hutch Aoki, a well-known skier and athlete. Robert C. Ecker Donated photographs and three betacam SP master tapes of ski jumping at Ecker Hill in 1931. Ecker Hill photo from Robert C. Ecker Alan K. Engen Donated VHS copies of the ski jumping at Ecker Hill in 1931 and added photographs and print materials to his massive ski history collection. Peter Goss Contributed 200 slides, contact sheets and prints to the 2002 Olympic Experience Collection that was started to document the impact of the Olympics on the University and the community. This collection now holds over 6,000 images. Lex Hemphill The former Salt Lake Tribune sports writer contrib­uted his manuscript and book collection document­ing sports in Utah. Jaka Korencan Contributed over one hundred images of University of Utah skiers in action in the 2006 Alpine, Nordic, and NCAA Championships ski events. Mike Korologos Added DVD and VHS tapes of skiing and other ski related materials to his growing collection. Bill Lash Compiled and donated a scrapbook documenting the history of PSIA (1937-1967). Cal & Dodie McPhie, Carl Buckland Took hundreds of photographs and made VHS tapes documenting the 2005 Ski Mfair. Rush Spedden Contributed a written history and a DVD of the Wild Old Bunch of Alta. Courtney Yamada Contributed photos of ski racing and skeleton. Skeleton photo from Courtney Yamada Ski Archives Advisory Board Members of the Ski Archives Advisory Board contin­ually donate material that documents the history of the Advisory Board and skiing in the Intermountain Area.
