Description The Utah Ski and Snowboard Archives is one of the most comprehensive collections in the entire country for research into the history and development of Utah's prospering winter sports industry. The archives document the history of ski competition on local, national, and international levels; the founding of major resorts; snow safety and avalanche control; ski equipment; ski instruction; freestyle skiing; the 10th Mountain Division; back-country skiing; and virtually every facet of winter sports in Utah and the surrounding region. The archives are the repository for the Salt Lake Winter Olympics Games Bid Committee records and the records of the 2002 games themselves.

Description Message from the Chair Barbara Amidon It's time to take your favorite ski sweater out of storage! The Ski Affair is only a few weeks away! As in past Ski Affairs, we have another group of History Makers who have made the preparations fun and exciting. The Ski Archives volunteers and staff of the Marriott Library are committed to making this an enjoyable and successful event. They are passionate about ski history and preserving it as well as enjoying the friendships that have been made over the years with the common thread of "skiing." I appreciate them for all of their hard work, enthusiasm and friendship. Along with our 2005 honorary chairs, Bill and Suzy Rytting, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Rossignol, our major sponsor, and all of you who purchase tables and buy items in our Silent Auction. We couldn't do this without the financial support and donations of photos, books and other memorabilia. We look forward to seeing you on Thursday, October 27th at the 2005 Ski Affair. 2005 Ski Affair October 27,2005,6 p.m. Little America J.
