Ski Archives Advisory Board Archives Advisory Board - Our Mentors It's called the Advisory Board. Its purpose is Utah Ski Archives to nurture the growth of the University of Utah Marriott Library's Utah Ski Archives. It's driven by an eight-member executive committee and most of its volunteer members serve on commit- tees ranging from public relations to special events and from awards to fund raising. It's a primary link between the ski community and the Marriott Library and its members are a main-and vocal-source of information and ideas for the archives program. Members of the Utah Ski Archives Advisory Board, the mentors of the Utah Ski Archives program, are: Dave and Barbara Amidon, Vie Ayres, Dan Bass, Junior Bounous, Zane Doyle, Alan Engen, John Firmage, Jim Gaddis and Phil Jones, P.J. Jones, Mike Korologos, Keith and Alice Lange, Louis Lorenz, Carol and Alfred Lupus, Marvin Melville, and Earl Miller. Also John Mortensen, Randy Montgomery, Clark Parkinson, Darm Penney, Jan Peterson, John and Sue Raemer, Bicknell Robbins, Duane and Jody Shrontz, Larry Warren, Elliot Wolfe, and Robert Young. Executive Committee Executive Committee Directs Ski Archives The Utah Ski Archives program at the University of Utah Marriott Library, established to preserve and nurture the state's rich skiing heritage, has established an executive committee to help guide its destiny. The eight-member board, selected from among a 31-member volunteer advisory board formed by the library when it launched the program in 1989, took office last July. These groups are the main sources of infor- mation and suggestions to the library. Utah Marriott Library are Bob Staab, Greg Thompson, and Joe Arave. Serving as the archives' original executive committee and their areas of responsibility are: Sue Raemer, Sandy, chair; Randy Montgomery, Salt Lake, executive direc- tor, co-chair; Dave Amidon, Park City, programs; Mike Korologos, Salt Lake City, communications; Clark Parkinson, Salt Lake City, finances; and ex-officio members representing the University of Terms on the executive committee are staggered so new personnel will be inducted annually. Duties of the board may include, but are not limited to, fund raising, publication and distribu- tion of newsletters, solicitation of archival materials, and working with a budget established and maintained by the Marriott Library. The executive committee is also the main liaison link between the 31-member advisory board and the library. |
