There is, at the present time, three things that guarantee that his name will never be forgotten. A statue was erected in his honor in California. The city of Austin has made his original store a ward of the city, so to speak, and have taken it from the tax rolls. Thirdly, the original bag of flour has long been displayed in the Reno Museum, and as long as there is a city of Austin, Nevada, the Sanitary Sack of Flour will never be forgotten. This Sack became so much a part of Austin's history that the City SeaL was changed to include a repLica of it, and to this day, every document of the city of Austin bears a reminder of the most famous sack of flour ever bagged, the flour that traveled for dough.
