Show 2 meeting was held at David Freeh's Office in early August. Present were Freet, Hartt Wixom, Karl Heidenreich, Fred Reimherr, and Dorothy Harvey -.all Advisory Board members. Purpose of Meeting: Fund raising Karl and Jim were to communicate with their organization superiors and report back to David Freed. Freed is folloiwng UD on this effort. Dorothy and Jim were elected as Co- Chairment of the Croup to be called Citizens for a Responsible CUP Jim is now resigning due to too limited time. Where we are now It was felt that the Citizens for a Responsible CUP needed a basic document in which the issues of the CUP were addressed in order to provide information to both the Group's Advisory Board and active members. This is the basis for their continuing action in protecting stream flows, wildlife marshes, and taxpayers money! After weeks of work, Part I of the Issues Paper is being printed and will be available through the Executive Secretary, Peter Hovingh. Address: 721 2nd Ave., SLC, 84103 359 .- 4791 At the cost of printing this, copies cannot be provided free to all trout fishermen of Clubs in Utah. However, working copies will be provided each Club. Please state your need and arrangements for obtaining copies. Additional copies are available for $6.50 apiece. 100 copies were printed and only those will be sent free as are needed to the Carter Administration staffs, and to key environmental groups working with us in Washington and in Denver. O.K? Part I deals with costs, economic feasibility and cost benefit ratio of the Bonneville Unit as well as alternative water supplies available and alternatives to CUP developed water (V<m Dam reports to Salt hake County Commission) Part II will deal with environmental issues and problems of protecting these. This will be available in the near future. So, we now have "ammunition" and need to start using here and in Washington. |
