Show -^"WNsmtwaatin 1 Acomas and Lagunas and even Navajos sometimes went to the 2 lake, but that the lake belonged to you, to the Zunis, and 3 they didn't contest that, they were just permitted to go 4 there, you might say, and then you added that there were 5 some other areas where the other Tribes, other than the 6 Zunis go for blessings. Can you tell us what some of those* 7 other areas are? 8 A Yeah, this Salt Lake and this Arizona area, (11) 9 Kolhu/wala:wa, the Acomas. The Acomas came directly from ^Q here to make service over there, too. The areas that are 11 utilized not only by us but by other people are the places 12 like (1) She/pa:pul'enfa and (2) Chi:piya/yall/a and also 13 (24) Dewanque:k/apa:chuyallan/e where other Tribes and 14 other groups, other pueblo groups have offerings or make 15 offerings. 16 Q Now, are these areas Zuni areas or are they 17 more properly within the area of one of the other Tribes? 18 A We might as well use the same time, like we go 19 over there and the other Tribe comes over here sometimes, 20 I guess, and there's no hard feelings, though, because 21 it's -- it's good for us and it's good for all of the 22 Tribesmen, especially to the medicine sides, because we 23 have medicine here and other Tribes have theirs, too, and 24 there's no other place we could go to unless we want to go 25 outside, and communication is easy here. -59- wMB^SSB9S!9FS^mKffW&^ |
