Show THE CHURCH REVIEW. <br><br> Among the Churches. <br> FIRST M. E. CHURCH. <br> POVERTY SOCIAL. The ladies of the First Methodist church are to give a "Poverty Social" in the lecture rooms of the church on next Friday evening, December 14th. Among the attractive features of the evening will be dress regulation. At a certain time in the evening all present will be drawn up in "dress parade." Ewing Mrs. Plummer and Mrs. Melton will be the inspectors, and any one found to be dressed above the poverty regulation will be fined ten cents. Another feature will be a "Mysterious Booth," in which there will be many curios, relics, etc., etc., which it will cost ten cents to see. You can go into the Booth or not; but to those who do not enter, its contents are to remain forever a mystery, unless, indeed some of the ladies reveal secrets, which is not to be supposed.
