Show THE CHURCH REVIEW.
NINTH TERRITORIAL SUNDAY SCHOOL CONVENTION.
The first session of the ninth annual Utah Territorial Sunday School Convention was held in the audience room of the First Congregational church Friday evening, November 30th, at 7:30. The room was beautifully decorated with flags, palms and blooming plants. The body of the church was filled when the Secretary, J. A. Smith of Ogden, began the song service. Miss Hulburd presided at the organ, Prof. Robt. B. Quay was in charge of the choir. The singing was spirited, being joined in by all. After prayer by Rev. R. G. McNiece, the president, Dr. Edw. V. Silver, took charge of the business of the convention and delivered a short address of welcome to the delegates. He outlined the work of the convention and advised his hearers to an exchange of ideas as Sunday School workers. He dwelt especially upon the need of consecration and enthusiasm, which he declared were necessary to effect a complete organization.
|
