Show Page 12<br><br>Sabbath School, Third Presbyterian Church.<br><br> During the year 1891 Rev. R. G. McNiece, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, had many conversations with Presbyterian families living in the vicinity of Lincoln Park addition [PHOTO: W. M. SCOTT, Supt. Sunday-School.] relative to the establishment of a Sabbath school in anticipation of the enterprise developing into a church organization, there being no Protestant church within a radius of two and one-half miles. In the month of December Dr. Edward V. Silver offered his aid in the establishment of such a school. Sunday, January 3, 1892, two deacons of the First Presbyterian Church-Walter C. Lyne and Van H. Brooks- formally instituted the school in a four-room vacant brick dwelling in Lincoln Park. The following officers were elected: Dr. E. V. Silver, superintendent; William M. There are two photographs, one of William M. Scott and the other of Mrs. H. B. Hough. The first article is about the First Protestant Church in the Lincoln Park area. The next three articles are overviews of some of this church's societies, such as the Young People's Society of Christian Endeavor.
