The Southern Arizona Watercolor Guild, which is sponsoring this year's show, asked for a diverse and "well-rounded" exhibition. I couldn't agree more with this request, as I feel good art is good art regardless of genre or style and there are many criteria for making considered selections. I also assert that personal philosophy must be set aside to select the finest examples of all the art presented while maintaining a balance of subject matter and media. The kindness and consideration SWAG extended prompts my deepest gratitude. Their hospitality and meticulous organization are exemplary, making the process of selections an enjoyable experience. My compliments and best wishes to all who participated in this annual competition, and congratulations to those whose paintings were selected or awarded. All helped to ·make this a fine example of what can be considered one of the year's finest watermedia exhibitions. It's an exciting show . . . enjoy it! |
