Description |
Image of Emma Bride quilt created in 1880 by Lydia Murphy Poarch. Also includes questionnaires describing the quilt completed by Emma Bride as part of the Utah Quilt Guild's documentation days held from 1988-1994. Lydia was a prolific quilt maker. As she was working on the quilt, she ran out of fabric and had her teenage son John go to their family owned store in town to get more cloth. He returned with different shades then she had but being a practical woman she went ahead and finished it anyway. John got married in Oklahoma when he has quite old (50's) but he still owned the quilt his mother. |
