Image of Shoo Fly quilt created about 1910 by Minnie Colegrove Ashby. Also includes questionnaires describing the quilt completed by Janine Speakman Rees as part of the Utah Quilt Guild's documentation days held from 1988-1994. Estimated date of fabric in quilt- 1800s; Minnie began to make quilts as a young girl and made for pleasure, to give as gifts, and out of necessity; Janine visited her parents in Fillmore, winter of 1988, while being there she noticed a quilt being used on the car Windshield to keep the snow off, then she found the Shoo Fly quilt inside of it and asked her mother if she could have it. |
