Show DAVE TATSUNO #1 think of their lives as bitter. DT: Well, you see, I think it's human nature to forget the past negative part. ST: Yeah. DT: And I think, accentuate the positive part. ST: Oh, yeah. DT: All the friendships that they had, the socials that they had and football games they had, the gettogethers that they had and so when you have a reunion, you see, even today among the regulars. My daughter just had the twenty-fifth reunion of . her high school and they were showing pictures of the past and they think about the happy times they had. ST: Yeah. Why did you decide to leave the co-op? Was it too much work? DT: No, no. I felt that my work was at an end. ST: Uh huh. DT: Well, you see, I left the co-op first of all because my brother-in-law who's an architect and farmed in '43 with five fellows from San Francisco who were not farmers--no farming background--and they went out on a leave into Utah there, Provo the town to farm. They had no farming experience. My sister helped cook and then they came out with a net of $5,000. ST: Oh, my. 25 |
