Abstract Arave (b. 1923) joined the Seabees in November 1942. He received training in Virginia and joined the 84th Seabee Battalion. Later he joined the 1011 Construction Battalion in Florida where they built courses for Navy men training for underwater demolition. He was sent to Hueneme, California, for overseas training and was shipped to Samar, Philippines, in early May 1945. He was there until discharged, November 1945. Interviewed by Joel C. Calderon. 22 pages.
