Show JO EPH ULRICH BECK J JOE: Yes. There is a chapter in Kwajalein a veterans organization that print it. BEC: Oh, I see. JOE: You know, Kwajalein now is a fabulous place. BEC: Have you been back there? JOE: No, unfortunately, I haven' t. 2 04 BEC: You mentioned that you worked for the State of Utah here for twenty-some-odd years. JOE: Yes, What I did ... So I went with Credit Bureaus Incorporated out of Salem, Oregon. In those days, credit unions were big business. The business was expanding. I became the manager of the Bend Oregon Credit Bureau. So I did that for a while. Then, when my wife got pregnant with our first child, she wanted her child born in Utah because she was a dedicated Mormon. So I agreed to bring her back to Utah. I decided I wasn't going to leave her. So I went looking for a job. I found out from the White Employment Agency that they had an opening for an adjuster in the State Insurance Fund, Workman's Compensation, but you had to be an attorney. Anyhow, I went up and made an inquiry. I found out that the chief adjuster was one of my friends 13 |
