Show DO L WOODFORD HARDY J 29,2004 had any supper. I hadn t either. he said 'Come to my hom I th ught, · H r I ll just deliver her to her home." So we got in my jeep and she showed me how tog t through the streets of Rome to her home. I parked the jeep in front of her home. he went in and I went in. Apparently, she had a little boy. I didn't know I didn't ever find out whether she had been married and was divorced and her husband killed in the war or whether she was just a partner or what. But she had a little boy who was five or six years old. So she wasn't a little girl. She was a woman. I didn't know that until we got to her home. Then she fixed supper for us. It was such a small table that when I sat down, my knee brushed her knee. I looked at her and she smiled at me so I smiled back. We had a nice dinner. After the dinner, she took her little boy to a little room to the left of her bathroom and put the boy to bed. It was getting late. She went into the bathroom and she talked on the phone there for a couple of minutes and when she came out, instead of wearing clothes she had put on a white robe with the flats around, folded. She lay on the bed all ready for me. Here I was in my military uniform, big boots right down to the shoe level with all my clothes on, but my mind said to me, "I'm not married." I had grown up believing that chastity was a very important thing and that you didn't indulge in sex until you got married. So that went through my mind again. It had happened before. So for a few moments, I lay on the bed by her but I was in my uniform. Here she was with her robe wide open. Wow. I kept thinking about it and thinking about it and then I thought, "I can't do this." I jumped 27 |
