Abstract Hardy (b. 1918) talks about his schooling, graduation from the University of Utah in 1941 in Sociology, and his participation in ROTC. He enlisted in the army in June 1941 and was assigned to the 3rd Infantry Division, Headquarters Battery of the 39th Field Artillery Battalion. He details his experiences in Morocco, Algiers, Tunisia, Sicily, and describes his brief tenure with the occupation forces in Austria. Discharged at the rank of Captain, he stayed in the reserves and retired as a Colonel after 32 years of service. Interviewed by Becky Lloyd. 33 pages.
