Show RLJO EPH TORO J 2 20 4 th y found out I was from Bellevue, which is twenty mile from Tiffin. W w r fr m Utah. One thing led to another so they invited us they said "We re having family night here tonight." "What s that?" 'Well, there'll be a jazz trio of somebody who sa staff member here, a PhD. We have a buffet and invite the parents of the school kids." 'Well we might come." They said, "We'd love for you to be our guests." Where we were staying was fifty miles away. So we drove fifty miles, changed, and came back. We were sitting there enjoying the music. They insisted that we have food and everything. Then the managers, people who were associated with the college, came. Each came personally to welcome us. BEC: Really? SAN: Yes. So we were sitting there enjoying the music and this guy walks up to me and said, "Mr. Santoro, I'm so and so, the president of the college. I just want to thank you for coming." The president of the college. So I had my camera with me. I said, "Do you mind if I take a picture?" "Only if you're in the picture with me," he said. So I have a picture with him. This was in October. At Christmas time, one of the gals that hosted us whose name was Mary Phillip sent us each a sweatshirt that said Heidelberg College on them. BEC: How nice. SAN: I got a letter from the president of the college too. It was great. That's the kind of stuff that's happened to us. BEC: That's great. How many children do you have? SAN: Four. I have three boys and a girl. BEC: Do they live around here now? 33 |
