Show RAY H. WHEELER arch 21 2 with me, then I think you should be accountable but not all the way. If I hadn't ha d n th things, maybe I would have felt more responsible for what actions I've become in lifl and om of those things. So, that's the way my thinking is of a person in this military and these things that we have no control over. I'm not completely responsible for what I've become. And I feel that the government has a responsibility to those people whenever you draft a person. Noah Webster says to compel, conscript. or compel-if you read the dictionary's meaning of "conscript" ... WIN: Well, okay. I certainly appreciate your willingness to talk to us, and your story will add to our collection. So, thank you very much. RAY: Well, I'm sure glad you come up, Mr. Erickson. And I like this country, and I just feel so bad because these people in these positions didn't honor their responsibilities, like President Clinton. In my opinion, that's a sad story. And these congressmen, you know, when they voted to impeach him-one more quick byline. They had 100 senators. And Senator Hatch made the statement-he says, "We can't impeach him." They had 48 democratic senators and 52 republicans. Well, they only needed one and a half not to impeach him. But I felt so sorry for this country when 48 people-I'm talking about democratic people-would not stand up with their knowledge of life, priorities, and values-would not stand up, you know what I mean, and impeach that guy. That's a sad situation. This country goes on, and it's the greatest country on earth; not because of us, but in spite of us. That's my final word on this, Mr. Erickson. WIN: Okay. Thank you very much. 37 |
