Show DELBERT FOWLER SEPTEMBER 10, 2001 DEL: No, Dan went to Evergreen. And I think there were about six kids that were promoted from the junior high school that went to Skyline; all the rest went to Olympus. BEC: Oh. DEL: And after he got enrolled at Skyline, then they changed the boundary and gave him his choice. But by then he had been in his classes and he said, "No, I' ll stay right here." Twenty-seventh East, I think, was the boundary. BEC: DEL: BEC: DEL: BEC: DEL: house (laughs). BEC: DEL: So your children all went to Evergreen, not to Wasatch? Correct. They didn't have that option. So you said you have five children? Uh-huh. One boy, I know. I always like to say I have three queens and two kings, which is a full That's funny. That's good. And do they live around here now? Well we have a preponderance of electrical engineers in our family. Dan, the oldest, is an electrical engineer for Microsoft; lives in Reno. And Paula, our second child and first daughter is the educational director for the Utah Opera Company, sings in the opera. Taught ten years at West High School as an English teacher, though, prior to that. BEC: Did your tenure there overlap with hers? DEL: No. Actually, the first year that she interviewed for a job in Salt Lake- she was teaching at the University, and I convinced her that she would never 27 |
