Show A SUMMARY OF THE EVENTS OF THE YEAR In the spring ordinary conditions prevailed in the hospital and things went on in the usual way, but in April, after the incidents at Shanghai, the foreigners went away and the hospital lost its superintendent, so we who remained had to exert our utmost strength to preserve the progress already made. In May and June the war between the north and south become more active. The Mukden Army, the Chihli-Shantung Combined Armies, and an army led by Gov. Ch'u, passed through Lintsing, no less than 100,000 men in all. Many soldiers came to the outpatient department every day.
