Our work was begun there in 1872 and numbered a membership of 1500 a year ago, but recent revivals in Venice and Milan greatly increased this aggregate. <br> Two of Bishop Taylor's female Missionaries in Africa were recently stoned, by natives who were maddened by rum and enraged because of an attempt of the ladies to save some native women from a heathen torture. The ladies fled for protection to the house of a king and barely escaped with their lives. <br> At the late session of the Central German Conference Bishop Foss consecrated three deaconesses, Misses Bauman, Tischendorf and Remboldt, all of Cincinnati. They are to reside at Christ's Hospital. <br> China has a Deaconess Home. <br> The following conferences are in session today: Minnesota Northern, Minneapolis, Fowler; Wisconsin, Racine, Wis., Foster; Central New York, Newark, N. Y.
