THE CHURCH REVIEW. <br><br> The Sermon I Want. <br> [Written for the CHURCH REVIEW.] <br><br> Something to strengthen my poor heart. <br> As troubles darkly lower, <br> Something to fire anew my faith, <br> In each desponding hour. <br><br> Something on which my soul can rest. <br> And trustingly receive, <br> When by life's cares and toils oppressed, <br> My daily life I live. <br><br> Something from which my heart may know <br> He, doeth all things well, <br> Though all my sky seems dark with woe, <br> And every sound a knell. <br><br> Something to teach me how to throw, <br> On every duty given, <br> A radiance which my soul shall know, <br> Comes down to me from heaven. <br><br> Something of love-eternal love, <br> Bright harbinger of good, <br> Which shines from Him who dwells <br> above <br> Our Father and our God. <br> -A Pew. <br> Salt Lake City, Sept. 20th 1895. <br><br> METHODIST. <br> While the Italians were celebrating their 25th anniversary of independence recently, the Methodists were dedicating their new Mission house. Our work was begun there in 1872 and numbered a membership of 1500 a year ago, but recent revivals in Venice and Milan greatly increased this aggregate. <br> Two of Bishop Taylor's female Missionaries in Africa were recently stoned, by natives who were maddened by rum and enraged because of an attempt of the ladies to save some native women from a heathen torture. The ladies fled for protection to the house of a king and barely escaped with their lives. <br> At the late session of the Central German Conference Bishop Foss consecrated three deaconesses, Misses Bauman, Tischendorf and Remboldt, all of Cincinnati. They are to reside at Christ's Hospital. <br> China has a Deaconess Home. <br> The following conferences are in session today: Minnesota Northern, Minneapolis, Fowler; Wisconsin, Racine, Wis., Foster; Central New York, Newark, N.
