Show Page 60<br><br>for five years president of Gates College, Nebraska, was elected president of the new college. Other members of the faculty were elected, as follows: William H. Tibbals, Ph. D., a graduate of Oberlin College, and for six years professor of philosophy and literature in Park College, Missouri; C. A. Kenaston, A. M., also of Oberlin, and for several years professor in Ripon College, Wisconsin, and also in Howard University; Miss Ella C. Fitzgerald, educated at Iowa College, and formerly one of the teachers in Salt Lake Academy, and Mrs. C. G.. Plummer of Salt Lake City. The college began its work with more students, with brighter prospects, with better equipment, and with larger possibilities than many of the old colleges had at their beginnings. The course of study adopted for Salt Lake College compares very favorably with the courses of other colleges which have years of history of successful struggles.
