Show Page 50<br><br>and June 23, 1890, Bishop Ninde, assisted by Dr. Iliff, laid the cornerstone of Iliff Academy. It was completed that fall sufficiently to allow school work the second term. Rev. R. T. Smith was the first pastor of the church, and the school year of 1891 and 1892 began with him as president, and his wife, Thomas Scott and wife and G. H. Bradford and wife as assistants. The school year of 1892 and 1893 began with Thomas Scott as principal and G. H. Bradford and wife as assistants. Rev. Mr. Smith having returned East, there was no pastor in the field till Rev. G. W. Rich arrived from Kansas in November, 1892, remaining till June, 1894. The school year of 1894 and 1895 began with Rev. John Telfer as principal, and Mrs. Murphy, assistant, with Miss Annie Don giving part of her time in hearing classes. In June, 1894, Wildman Murphy became pastor, and in September the school opened with Mrs. Murphy, principal, and Miss Don and Miss Elsie Miles as assistants. The present year of |
