Show 6 <br> THE CHURCH REVIEW. <br><br> FIRST BAPTIST. <br> The Baptist churches of this city are honored today by the presence of the Rev. T. J. Morgan, D. D., of New York City, the corresponding secretary of the American Baptist Home Mission Society. Dr. Morgan has been distinguished as a public man for a quarter of a century. For gallantry and meritorious services during the war, he received the distinction of Brevet-Brigadier General, being one of the youngest men in the service upon whom this honor was bestowed. After the war he pursued special historical studies in Leipsic and has since been occupied mostly in teaching. His work entitled "Studies in Pedagogy" has been widely recognized as a standard.
