Utah Highway Commission builds road from Wyoming line at Linwood west through Manila to join Wyoming road through Burnt Fork, Lyman and Mountain View. Solid bridge built over Black's Fork as road from Green River to Linwood is improved. Hanna LDS Ward chapel is built. Small electric power plant is built on Lake Fork, northwest of Myton. Used as reserve plant from 1921. Utah Power and Light Company develops natural gas field in Clay Basin. Settlement which springs up is later abandoned. Dry Gulch Irrigation Company builds series of dams along Chain Lakes. Bullionville, located between Vernal and Manila, which had sprung up near a small copper mine about 1882, is abandoned. Duchesne LDS Stake is divided into Duchesne and Roosevelt Stakes. Uintah Power and Light Co. establishes plant in Uintah Canyon. Ute Oil Shale Co. establishes operation north of Watson to extract and refine oil from shale. Abandoned in three years. Road built from Manila south over mountain down Sheep Creek Gap. Colorado River Compact divides that river and its tributaries at Lee's Ferry, Arizona into an upper and lower Basin. Town of Moffat is renamed Gusher in anticipation of an oil boom which fails to occur. Uintah Basin Industrial Convention is held annually. The Convention serves as a market for local goods, as expedition for local talents including Ute craft-workers . Uintah High School established in Utah Stake Academy building. Sand Wash Ferry ( for livestock) put into operation by |
