Show TFR ot SIDE TRIP TO MESA VERDA NATIONAL PARK Mesa Verde National Park is only an afternoonauto ride rom Noab the trip there can be taken for instance onSaturdey afternoon affordingroem around that evening andwalk down to Spruce Tree Fouse almost at the side of the hotel then the next morning one oan take choice of the auto trips with guides and leoturers who will explain to the visitors the mmy points of interest One such trip is to the famous Cliff Palage one of the lar gost ancient Indien CLiff Dwellings in the United States This building dates back shown by the proofs of Dr Tree Ring Douglas toperiod of about 1067 when England was under the sway of Normandy There are 323 rooms in this tmmense group tucked away down underncath an overhanging ledge of popular intercst there is the Round Tower and of sofentific interest are the twenty-three large kivas or sacred ceremonial chambers of the Indians Another interesting trip is to Balcony House which is 50 well defended that one man withbow and arrow could hold in checkswarm of invaders and astiny seep of water dribbles in the back the besieged could hold out as long as their food permitted Mesa Verde National Park is very interssting and attraots many thousand people each year cood road leeds to it To Teach it via Moab to Monticello amd then across amd up the green Table pigital image 2003 Beckwith Family Al rights reserved |
