Typescript of a biographical sketch of James Andrus, collected by Katie Webb. Andrus was born in Ohio in 1835 and came with his family to Utah in 1848. He settled in Saint George in 1861, was captain of a militia that fought the Indians in the Black Hawk War in 1866, and later settled at Grafton. Transcribed by Virginia Lee in 1836 |
