Title |
On the rendering of surfaces |
Date |
1979 |
Description |
Abstract: Despite the relative sophistication of modern surface design systems, many graphical renderings of surfaces are relatively crude. The paper discusses a variety of possible rendering, including various line drawing methods, realistic and functional shading, and ccombinations of line drawings and smooth shading, concluding that a good choice is the superpostion of contours or sections on either realistic or Gaussian curvature shading.: |
