Mideast Library Honors Key Aide A rare honor - seldom con- There are thousands of cate-ferred during a man's lifetime - has been bestowed on Aziz S. Atiya, director of the University of Utah's Middle East Center. A plaque designating the former University Book Store as the Aziz S. Atiya Library for Middle East Studies and engraved with the Arabic inscription of his name was presented by Dr. James C. Fletcher, U. president, and Dr. A. Ray Olpin, former president. The library contains some 12,- 000 volumes in Arabic and other languages of the Middle East. They are from the Joseph Lin-don Smith collection, one of America's finest collections of Middle Eastern art and literature. They are the gift of Mrs. Smith, 85, widow of the collector and friend of Dr. Atiya. Another feature of the Middle East library, housed in the U.
