Show 22 BarclayFlapping Fants Legs Save His Life oran Barelay hes auitecorporation front To get ovoralls that fit hie pirth there 1s auiteflarping of cloth about the shins One day Emery an Barclay were out in the hills barelaylittle 4n advance From his point of vantare Emory sawrattlesnake potsed to strike just shead of Barclay Withquick yell he said Bare OKOUTI Barelay stopped the forward motion of the outward going leg but the cloth dtdn te1t flasped forvard menscingly tovard the sake which struck at fust that ins ant But flapping pants leg was empty out the-e nd the hit was harmless to him For one Asy the portly Barclay was happy that he was wide around he mid-sec fon Of conrse over so longstretch of years fmory can remember For instace whenbox-car on wheels about the far dis ot cast twenty-two miles north of his farm was ealled Alken then whai to show greater permanancy the railroad took the wheels from under that car amd the siding was called burtner Then on about 1910 or 1912 the growing pains oflusty husky 1ittle berg shook the air and again the name wae changed to DELTAL He can remembertiny bank in it with skinny cashier-who cham ged his name toFditor-and then changed it again to Hobbylst Pmory can remember the ol4 hitching post across the street from that bank the first pieture show the old Coover Hotel across the track the firet coment sidewalk in Delta And he can also remember 1fty yonrs of herd work tramoine hills gathering stuiying getting nto full swing on his own hobby which now attests all his work Digital image 2003 Beckwith Family Al rights reserved |
