Description |
Golden Cross: Represents Golden Spike and Utah being the crossroads of The West. The six prongs also symbolize the spokes of a wagon wheel as a symbol of the Mormon Pioneers who settled Utah. 29 Stars: Represents each of the 29 counties in Utah. Color Gold: Represents the honeybee- "beehive state" and the industrious people of Utah today. Color Blue: Represents the Great Salt Lake, near the capital, as well as gives tribute to the previous Utah flag. Blue also signifies perseverance, and justice. Color White: Represents the Sego Lily and Seagulls as part of Utah's history. It is on both sides of the flag because white signifies purity and innocence. |
