Description |
Julian Maack was born in 1926. Mr Maack attended the California College of Arts and Crafts. Mr Maack earned his M.F.A. from the University of Utah. For 48 years, Julian Maack was Director of Medical Illustration at the University of Utah School of Medicine. Tucked away in Room AC112 of Building 521, Mr Maack along with a team of photographers, illustrators and even a cinematographer brought a different kind of innovation to the University of Utah. Julian Maack, who could aways be spotted in his signature bow tie, was a widely published medical illustrator. The 1970s-era Medical Illustrations department took photographs for diagnostic purposes, created illustrations for educational materials and even directed short documentary and promotional films. Mr Maack died in 2009. |
