In a quest to breath a little easier, student developers created a product - Last Inhaler You'll Ever Need (LIYEN) - that disrupted the old school rescue inhaler market. LIYEN's unique delivery system mechanism is able to administer 70 to 90% albuterol into the lungs of asthma suffers compared to the just 20% that conventional inhalers delivered. The invention earned the team the grand prize in the 2012 Bench-to-Bedside competition. |
