Description |
This patient was incidentally-noted to have anomalous appearance of the optic discs, right more so than left, consistent with situs inversus optic disc anomaly. She did not have any visual deficits related to this exam finding. ; The patient's fundus photos demonstrate situs inversus of the optic disc in the right eye, and much less dramatic situs inversus of the optic disc in left eye. Note the retinal vessels first project nasally, away from the macula, on exiting the optic disc before bending back towards the macula, characteristic of situs inversus optic nerve anomaly. OCT demonstrates the "nasal shift" of the inferior and superior nerve fiber bundle peaks, typical of situs inversus optic disc anomaly.; Subject Terms: Situs inversus optic nerve anomaly, congenital anomaly of the optic nerve, anomalous optic disc |
