Show - 50 'White Rocks School. T. eeo Or sex: reaching V^hlte Rocks, we passed through the Indian grazing lands. They were covered with heavy undergrowth and wore very rocky and uneven. 'White Rocks, fshich is the location of the Agency boarding school, was reached about noon. In another place in this report I hava some comments to malce upon the operation of the 'ihite Rooks Bchool. After lunoheon we drove in a northeasterly direction from "Shite Rocks, across tha old river beds forming a Dart of the TVhita Rocks River, and ascended what is locally known as tho ..hits Rocks Bench. Ti^ drove across thia bench through many Indian allotments, approximately 50/1 of which were undsr cultivation. The raw lands yet remaining, Sup«rintendent Kneala aarpects to reduce and have under cultivation within the next year and a half. On this drive, we were accompanied by District Farmer Frank Davis. After a few miles, we dropped down from the ' > 'Shite Hocks Benoh into the Deep Creek Country and there again •suntry. traversed Indian allotments until we were about a mile and a i hAlf due wost of LaPoint. In this section are somo of the finest farming lands in the Dintah Basin. 'ffhile substantially all of it is allotted to Indians, it has boen put under cultivation, to a great extunt, by leasees. The Deep Creek Country is similar in topographical formation and soil to the Redcap Flat, |
