Title Religious affiliation in Latin America
Date 2023
Description I examine the changing religious makeup of Latin America. I use data from the Latinobarómetro survey. I explore the decline of Catholicism over time. I also explore how the views about the economy affect religious commitment and confidence in the church. The results suggest that religious affiliation, commitment, and confidence are decreasing. They also suggest people have higher confidence in the church and are more committed when they believe the economy is doing well.
